SALT TALKS – Targeting Daily Living Skills
Speaker: Amie Duncan, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, The Kelly O’Leary Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders, Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
Dr. Duncan will discuss how to target daily living skills (e.g., hygiene, cooking, cleaning, money management) in order to build independence in adolescence and adulthood. She will discuss a thorough plan for targeting, practicing, and mastering daily living skills based on the intervention that she has developed for adolescents with autism and their parents/caregiver. Dr. Duncan will also discuss strategies and resources that have been instrumental in increasing the independence of adolescents at home and in the community.
