SALT TALKS – Post Secondary Education (Part 1)

In both Part 1 & 2, along with the speakers, we will have a few families share about their own post-secondary experiences.
During the Part 1 session, we will explore and learn about post-secondary options in Southwest Ohio.
Participants will learn about the post-secondary programs offered by the various institutions, how to apply and prepare for their programs.
- What supports are in place to assist my child around campus?
- Are the buildings, classrooms, & on-campus living arrangements adaptable to students with disabilities?
- Can my child be an off-campus student?
- Are there supports for “during class” or “after class” study assistance?
- What happens if my child reacts negatively on campus due to anxiety or stress? Are there supports or assistance in place?
- Plus other points of discussion regarding post-secondary education & campus life.
By learning, having an overview & knowledge prepares parents to make a better decision regarding this stage of transition.
