SALT TALKS – Planning for Independent Living
Andrea Harker from Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services will discuss some vital parts of preparing for living independently.
Join us as we explore some key points:
- What is Independent Living?
- What finances or costs could I have?
- How to recognize the difference between an emergency issue and a typical everyday issue while living on your own.
We will discuss from birth to adulthood, steps families and guardians can take to continue to help with your child’s future.
Our Lunch & Learn sessions have been created so staff and parents can attend a mid-day 30-minute presentation targeting transition-related topics.
