April’s Employee Spotlight of the Month: Administrative Assistant Amy Holland
Join us as we pay tribute to our incredible staff through “The Employee Spotlight of the Month!” Every month, we will spotlight a new employee so that we can share with the community the wonderful things our employees are doing every day!
Congratulations to Amy Holland, our Employee Spotlight for the month of April!
Amy began working with individuals with developmental disabilities in 2002 when she accepted the Sub Habilitation Assistant position in the Adult Services department at the BCBDD. In 2003, Amy took a full-time position at the BCBDD and quickly became a trainer. In 2015, Amy moved to the Early Intervention Department as an Administrative Assistant. Amy really enjoyed the Administrative Assistant role, so she decided to apply for the position in the SSA Department and got it! 2 years later Amy joined the Community Services Department as an Administrative Assistant and has been in that department ever since.
“I love my job, and I am so glad I found my place at the BCBDD,” Amy said. “I have many favorite parts about my job, but I would say the absolute best part is talking with families and helping them get connected with the Family Support Services Program and other resources.”
Since joining the BCBDD team, Amy has made it a priority to help any employee when they are in need, going as far as volunteering her time at BCBDD events and other volunteer organizations as often as possible.

“I really enjoy helping my team, co-workers, and community,” Amy said. “I always jump at a volunteer opportunity! I have helped at the Butler County Educational Service Center packing boxes of food for students over break who have a lack of food in the home. I also helped build and deliver ‘Sleep in Heavenly Peace’ beds for kiddos! I especially have enjoyed being involved in our BCBDD outreach events like the Best Buddies Friendship Walk and Middletown Night Out. I have always enjoyed helping people! As a kid, I went to the nursing home with my mom to visit my grandma and developed a passion for elderly people. That passion has spilled over into helping the individuals the BCBDD serves as I became an adult.”
Community Services Director, Sherry Dillon has supervised Amy for several years and said Amy’s positivity is a real boost for the whole team.

“She’s incredibly reliable, a hard worker, and she’s got a knack for catching every little detail,” Sherry said. “Because of her, we know things are getting done correctly and efficiently!”
Amy is always willing to help with anything that has been asked of her,” Community Connection Coordinator Jenny Mann said. “She truly supports the Community Services Department! She is always willing to help with outreach booths in the community.”

Sherry and Jenny weren’t the only ones that couldn’t express enough how grateful they are for Amy.
“Amy is always willing to help others,” Community Outreach Advocate Courtney Hineman said. “I always enjoy our conversations at lunch time and getting to catch up with each other!”
Amy is very patient with me,” Public Relations Coordinator Patricia Dawson said. “Anytime I pop in her office, she’s willing to help me with my thing right then and there. She’s thorough and conscientious. It’s always fun to have lunch with Amy too. She’s full of great money-saving tips and is always up to something interesting with her boys and dogs.”
“Amy is such a wonderful colleague,” Data Management Clerk Deneen Trombetti said. “She is always willing to help in any way and ALWAYS with a smile!”
Public Relations Coordinator Cassie Mattia said she not only respects Amy’s work ethic but also respects her passion for the DD community and making sure her son understands how important it is to give back to the community.

“I would say at least 99 percent of our staff know how unbelievable Amy is at her job but what many don’t know is how active she is in the community,” Cassie said. “Amy is always the first to help with BCBDD outreach events and typically she brings her son along to help as well! It is so cool to see her instill the values she has in her son. There have been several events that I have been at that Amy has come to with her son to help, and you can just see it on her face and her sons how much they truly love serving the DD community! Amy is a huge asset to the BCBDD organization and the Butler County community!”
