DODD Director Kimberly Hauck Grants Full 3-Year Accreditation to Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities

The Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities (BCBDD) was granted a 3-year accreditation through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD), which is the longest accreditation range possible and is a direct reflection of the steadfast work their staff is doing to remain compliant with state standards while providing the best quality of service.

Tina Haggerty managed the review process on behalf of DODD and in her exit review with the agency, she shared what she heard from many of the families supported by the Board: “We had a lot of really good feedback from families,” Haggerty said. “They’re happy with the services that the SSAs [Service and Support Administrators] are providing to their individuals.” She continued that in the Early Intervention (EI) department that focuses on babies age 0 – 3, many parents expressed great satisfaction. “EI families love the staff, love the services they’re getting. They felt their kids were really making progress.”

She commended Board staff for their work in supporting each person’s unique dreams and aspirations, noting that the agency’s self-advocacy group as an example.

The State reviews each county board through a week-long audit, confirming that the agency is properly complying with standards.

“I’m absolutely thrilled with this finding,” said Lee Ann Emmons, BCBDD Superintendent. “We strive for excellence – our community deserves that – and this 3-year accreditation confirms that our staff are doing a tremendous job.”
